Should Lebron James’s Relationship With Jay-Z Worry The Cavs?
Interesting read on Yahoo sports about LBJ and Jay-Z’s relationship. Would LeBron leave Cleveland and join the Brooklyn Nets? I wouldn’t be surprised.
A Review Of The Notorious B.I.G. Movie Screenplay
It opens with his murder and funeral, then doubles back to his Brooklyn childhood. We get a few scenes of Biggie at home, in the classroom, and on the corner dealing crack; there are some rap posters in his bedroom, and we see him fill a rhyme book during a nine-month prison sentence, but there’s no real explanation given for how he went from enthusiastic fan to one of hip-hop’s all-time most revered emcees. Nevertheless, by page 30, he’s signed to Puffy’s label, and from there it’s a mad, tensionless dash to the end of his biography, with all emerging conflicts — his mom’s breast cancer, baby-mama drama, various love triangles (Biggie, Faith Evans, Lil’ Kim; Biggie, Evans, Tupac) — resolved within a scene or two.

It’s entertainment. You have a chance to just be you and do what you want to do
,Mayweather said Monday after a chaotic Staples Center event that masqueraded as a news conference.
Tha Boss Dogg titled the album “Ego Trippin’” because this time around, he is doing just that. After 16 years in the game, Snoop consistently proves himself as not only an entertainer, but a pioneer in hip hop. On Snoop’s ninth studio offering, the West Coast rapper is taking chances no other rap artist could pull off, and showing fans a new side we have never seen before. “Ego Trippin’” showcases groundbreaking material and if the first single is any indication - fans will embrace the new sounds. Snoop says, “I named the album Ego Trippin’ because after staying relevant for 16 years, I can afford to take chances and have some fun. I always made music to win in my neighborhood but after all these years I needed to do something bigger - I had to get out of my usual gangster zone without losing who I am, this time around I am going to win worldwide.”

BET Rip The Runway Pics
‘Throughout the album, Snoop takes listeners on a musical journey - from funk to eighties vibes to even country music. Forever a fan of Teddy Riley, Snoop was excited to be able to collaborate with the musical genius on this album. Throughout the recording process, they had such great chemistry in the studio that QDT Muzic was birthed - an entity comprised of DJ Quik, Snoop and Teddy that is responsible for overseeing the entire album. Snoop came up with the song concepts, Teddy added his touches to the production and Quik mastered the album. Ego Trippin’ marks the first time since “Doggystyle,” Snoop’s first album, that one individual mastered the entire package - adding a continuity to the sounds that play more like a movie instead of a music recording.
Thematically on Ego Trippin’, Snoop is paying tribute to those who inspired him over the years. The musically rich song “Cool” is an interpolation of the classic song originally recorded by The Time. On it, Snoop sings more than raps and the results are phenomenal. It is a song made to dance to and will transport listeners to the eighties with one listen. Another surprise song is entitled “Johnny Cash” and was written and produced by Whitey Ford. The song is a country love ballad and is unlike anything anyone has ever heard from a hip hop superstar. One of Snoop’s album favorites is “Say Goodbye,” featuring R&B great Charlie Wilson of The Gap Band. Snoop says, “This song makes me want to cry every time I hear it. It is a reflection of my life and how I have grown as not only an artist but also a man - it is about me staying true to where I came from while having to accept where I am in my life today, it’s deep.”
As if Snoop were not busy enough, he is also experiencing major success on the small screen with his E! reality show “Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood.” The show takes viewers into the life of Snoop and his family, comprised of his wife and three kids, to prove he is really a down to earth family man. The show can be seen on Sundays at 10:30pm on E! Networks

Lil Wayne Sounds Shook Of 50 Cent
“That n—a’s crazy, Wayne laughed. “I ain’t f—ing with 50. He’s too high up there. That’s my n—a, though. I respect that my name even came out the homie’s mouth. I just took it as a compliment. I would never go back at 50; he’s a trillionaire. I’m trying to get there, homie. I’m smart. I ain’t dumb.

Brooklyn-based activist Filing A 5 Billion Dollar Lawsuit Against Barclays Bank, Bruce Ratner & Jay-Z
In the claim, Mr. Campbell said that Mr. Ratner and Jay-Z worked “in concert” with Barclays, and “profited from the African Slave Trade and continue to profit from these gains, through a conspiracy dating back hundreds of years and continue to date to oppress Black people, enslave them, unlawfully deport them to all corners of the Earth.”
People still think about getting slavery reparations? It’s not going to happen and even if it did how would money be dispersed with not every black person having ancestors from here? How would you even determine the appropriate amount to be given per person? This sounds like a waste of time.
No will give you 40 acres and a mule, you have to go out there and get it yourself.
The article made a correction, DJ Kool Herc is not the one filing the lawsuit, lol something sounded wrong.
Jay-Z & Nas Dropping A Duet Album?
Rumors continue to swirl about Jay-Z’s still-unconfirmed new record label, Carter Music Group. We hear that Jay is partnering with rapper Nas on an album of duets, “The Kings of Hip Hop,” to be released on the label early next year. Jay’s rep is keeping tight-lipped.
Thoughts on this rumor? A few track together is hot, but a whole album?

“Lollipop”
“I’m not a lollipop rapper,” Wayne told us, by way of introducing this song as the radio single, “but this track is cold.” It’s one of many new Wayne songs to feature T-Pain/Roger Troutman vocoder singing effects and it transcends its boner-as-blow-pop conceit on the force of its strangeness: Wayne’s singing isn’t just a run through the T-Wayne ProTools patch, it’s chopped up and layered over itself in a dense, alien collage. It actually de-naturalizes the vocoder gimmick, which is as common as high-hats nowadays. “Dudes are gonna hate this one,” he said. “Ugly dudes, that is.”
Hopefully all his tracks won’t leak.

In addition to meeting with the Falcons, he met with the Raiders, who pick fourth in the draft, and several other teams. Dozens hurt in Georgia sugar refinery explosion
CNN Reports dozens of people were injured — many of them critically — in an explosion at a sugar refinery near Savannah, Georgia, Thursday evening, law enforcement and medical officials said.
The blast, at Imperial Sugar in Port Wentworth, happened shortly after 7 p.m.
Georgia Emergency Management Agency spokesman Buzz Weiss said hospitals were told to prepare for as many as 100 casualties from the explosion.
By just after 11 p.m., about 40 workers from the plant were being treated at area hospitals, according to Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department Chief Michael Berkow.
Search efforts were ongoing for another 6 workers believe to be still missing inside the plant, he said.
There were no immediate reports of fatalities.
“It was like walking into hell,” said Joyce Baker, who was with her husband, a Port Wentworth police officer, at a meeting at nearby City Hall, at the time of the explosion.
Savannah Fire Department officials said they were still fighting the fire at the plant after 11 p.m. — using a tug boat to blast water onto the blaze from the Savannah River.

The “Mary J. Blige & JAY-Z: Heart of the City” tour is the pinnacle of Mary and Jay’s long-time collaboration which began in 1996 with the classic “Can’t Knock The Hustle.” The multi-Grammy award winning powerhouses are two of the most successful artists of our time whose influence stretch far beyond any musical borders.
This will be JAY-Z’s first arena tour since his successful JAY-Z and Friends Tour in 2004 and the first to feature material from his 2006 Kingdom Come album and 2007’s critically acclaimed American Gangster album. A multiple Grammy, American Music Award and VMA award winner, JAY-Z has continued to set the bar for all artists and entrepreneurs. Co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, he currently is the president of Rocawear, part owner of the New Jersey Nets and co-owner of the successful 40/40 chain. Most recently, Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter held the title of President of Def Jam Records where he helped guide the careers of superstar artists and multiple Grammy nominees such as Rihanna, Ne-Yo, NAS, Kanye West and Young Jeezy.
Mary J. Blige is a truly iconic artist whose longevity in the music business is a rarity. Her 8th and current studio album, Growing Pains (released 12/18 on Matriarch/Geffen), reached platinum in three weeks and is grabbing the hearts of the critics and fans alike. People magazine says, “There are three things you can count on: death, taxes and good Mary J. Blige albums.”
A six-time Grammy Award winner, Mary has won more than 25 awards in all, including NAACP Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Awards, BET Awards, MTV’s Video Music Awards, Soul Train Awards and more. Over the span of her 15-year career, Mary has blessed us with 8 platinum and multi-platinum studio albums (she released a live album in 1998 and a greatest hits album in 2005 both to critical acclaim and incredible sales) selling more than 40 million copies worldwide. With every album she has proven that hers is a voice of healing; a voice of reckoning.
